Pictures For A Saturday

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this will be a really long post. Highline Autos hosts a local Cars and Coffee event, usually held the first Saturday of the month, but since last Saturday was New Year’s Day the event was held today. I will show just a fraction of the photos that my wonderful wife and I snapped. Without further ado:

As most readers know I am a fan of the current generation NSX, which sadly will be discontinued after the 2022 model year, but I also like the previous generation that was built from 1990 to 2005.

I just love the exterior color of this 1950 Mercury restomod.

This Ferrari 330 GTC was probably my favorite car at the event.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Pictures For A Saturday

Apparently, Aaron Rodgers has no clue when to just shut up. Hope the Broncos’ fans, or wherever he is playing next year, don’t get tired of his shtick. This Packers fan is definitely sick of his act.

My wonderful wife could not wake up in time for us to realistically attend the local “Scuderia” car show, which has resumed being held the first Saturday of the month after a damn virus hiatus. Instead, we went to the Penske complex after breakfast. I have written about this “venue” many times; virtually every luxury make of car is sold there and it is the home of the Penske racing museum.

Today, the Lamborghini club of America was holding an event there. Incredibly, I neglected to take any pictures of any Lamborghinis. Here are some I did take:

This 2018 Jaguar F-Type convertible was the only one in stock, new or used, at the Jaguar/Land Rover dealer. This dealership has a grand total of three new cars in inventory at present! The damn virus is real, but so are lazy people.

Going on a tangent…former FDA commissioner and current Pfizer board member Scott Gottlieb (“Love of God” in German?) believes the damn virus pandemic could be over in the US by January. The same company announced its damn virus pill, used in conjunction with an HIV drug, cuts the risk of hospitalization or death by 89%. Therapeutics must be part of the arsenal along with vaccines.

Back to the car pics:

This 2019 Ford GT has 42 miles on it; yep, 4-2. I think these cars were around a half million when new; the dealer is asking $1.4 million.

I assume this is a real BMW M1 and, if so, is the first one I’ve ever seen in person. Only about 450 were produced from 1978 to 1981.

Hope you enjoyed the show…

Pictures For A Saturday

A picture is (often) worth a thousand words. Leave it to me to attempt to modify such a famous statement.

This was the first car we saw this morning and it just took my breath away. As you can tell from the top and bottom photos, we parked next to this beautiful 1934 Cadillac.

It’s hard to believe, but as famous as the 1963 Corvette Split-Window coupe is, more convertibles were produced that year. The ratio was almost 50-50, though: 10,919 convertibles, 10,594 coupes.

I am a big fan of the Ferrari 456, which I consider to be sort of a forgotten Ferrari and is one that is not ridiculously expensive to buy. Maintenance is another issue, of course, but that’s true for all Ferraris.

The last photo just presented itself to me and I couldn’t resist.

Hope you have enjoyed the pics and (sparse) commentary.

Pictures For A Saturday

Without further ado:

Partially obscured by the C5 on the left is my wonderful wife’s 2018 Corvette in Z51 spec and 3LT trim. The beautiful exterior color is Watkins Glen Gray Metallic.

IF I were to acquire a C6 Corvette, which is highly unlikely, I would get one in this color, Atomic Orange.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
