Pictures For A Saturday

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this will be a really long post. Highline Autos hosts a local Cars and Coffee event, usually held the first Saturday of the month, but since last Saturday was New Year’s Day the event was held today. I will show just a fraction of the photos that my wonderful wife and I snapped. Without further ado:

As most readers know I am a fan of the current generation NSX, which sadly will be discontinued after the 2022 model year, but I also like the previous generation that was built from 1990 to 2005.

I just love the exterior color of this 1950 Mercury restomod.

This Ferrari 330 GTC was probably my favorite car at the event.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

  1. I’m looking forward to getting back to my automotive interests this year, eventually. Last year was pretty much a washout for me. Between the Kung Flu, my health problems, then later in the year my dad’s health problems, I pretty much lost the whole year. I will admit that starting to go thru my dad’s estate, and the items he “collected”, has given me a bit of an eye opener. I have come to the conclusion that if I were to shuffle off this mortal coil sooner rather than later, someone would have a monumental task facing them to clear out MY collection, So to save someone’s sanity, I have decided to “cull the herd”. I like the vehicles I own, but as the time seems to be FLYING by as I age, I realize I will never get to finish, and enjoy, all of them. Therefore I have already sent out “feelers” to see if any of my many friends and acquaintances would like to have some of them, even though I expect to lose my butt on some of them. I think I will probably try to get down to 5 cars/trucks and 2-3 motorcycles by the end of the year. That will give me the opportunity to enjoy what I have more often, as opposed to always working on them. With my looming retirement, I look forward to traveling, in the vehicle of my choice, to various parts of the country I have enjoyed in the past.

As to what to do with the tools and equipment in my shops, that will be harder to give up. But a decision will have to be made on that also, it will just take some planning. (Growing old sucks, would NOT recommend) 😦

    1. Yes, DDM, growing older is often not pleasant, but I’d like to think it beats the alternative. Sorry your year was so difficult; I can definitely relate. Best of luck in culling the herd.

    1. Neither, Philip. The show is held in a relatively new retail and residential area called High Street, which is near the Desert Ridge area. It is located in Phoenix, but is nowhere near downtown.
