I wish I were more patient, more tolerant. However, we are what we are. We have control over our thoughts and actions, but not total control over our circumstances.
I wish Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all of my readers!

From collectioncar.com a picture of a car similar to one being auctioned by Mecum in Kissimmee early next month/year. A 1965 Shelby Cobra replica is being offered at no reserve on Friday, January 3rd. Other than that it is powered by a 302 cubic-inch engine and has a 5-speed transmission, no other information is shown. Oh, except the auction estimate of $35,000-$40,000.
The Cobra is, of course, one of the most iconic automotive shapes in history. Many companies still offer cars based on the legendary body.
I think they are gorgeous cars, but even less practical than a Corvette. I don’t see how these could be anyone’s daily driver, but I don’t have a monopoly on good taste and good judgment (neither does anyone else).
As I commented in the context of Ultimate Garage 2.0, I don’t really have expensive tastes in automobiles. Unless I suddenly found myself with a nine-figure net worth or more, I really wouldn’t want an original 427 Cobra, which has an average value of about $2 million. Of course, it’s not for me to say how someone else should spend money they have legally acquired; those assets belong to the acquirer. For me, though, if I wanted a Cobra I would be happy spending $50,000 to buy a car that is probably more modern and safer than an original and costs a mere fraction. Different strokes for different folks…
